Super lucky to have had the opportunity to go back to India this year. Not once, but twice! I visited for my INTACH research project based on Kinaesthetic Empathy. The last trip coincided with the Vikram Sarabhai International Arts Festival, which was wonderful. I spent time with Mallika and her family and was lucky to draw, write and observe within the Darpana Company rehearsals and practice. Block printing became important this time. I invited children to come and print some of the gestures and movements of the dancers, yogi’s and martial artists. The children loved to identify their teachers in the prints. They took turns and even started printing onto their clothes! I had to remind them that the ink was permanent x
