I am currently planning action research to take place during the final part of the term. The work seeks to build dialogue between children who have been fighting. It takes my optical drawing interventions into the classroom. So far the results have been wonderful. We didn’t speak much actually, but the gestures and expressions between children said everything. The children I teach have often been affected by trauma. We have had nurture and attachment training at school, to learn the best approaches to expressions of anger and pain. With children, as with adults, listening helps. Further reading will inform the research, I have found restorative approaches so far v. inspiring x These drawings are student-teacher collabs!
