This is an examplar of an alternative drawing I made for Year 9’s. Their project was based on bacteria and we made petri-dish experiments with ink and biro drawings. It was fun and made links wherever possible with Arts and Health. Students learnt about the connection between the brain and the gut! Facts included that we are 90% bacteria and a complex diet feeds the gut, which can support the brain, acting against anxiety and depression. Complexity in food feeds the mind coming into balance. When the class was asked if they or anyone they knew suffered with a mental health condidtion, every child in the class put up their hand. We need a better understading of how to make children healthy and happy x
