Year 6 have been working on their textile mobiles this half-term. We introduced the children to the Gond community in India. Children learnt how this Adivasi community care for their animals and plants. Many of the pupils at school live on farms and in rural settings. Many children have their own animals. We learnt about how and why it is important to care. Then the children’s imaginations were set free to design their ‘team’ mobiles in partners. I’m not quite sure how but two students created a dragon. Next half-term we will be painting and using our textures. Looking forward.
